Best Fit

Please help. This problem is bugging the heck out of me, and I know it can be done somehow in Excel.

Problem: Multiple storage cabinets of different widths are available (24", 36", 42", and 48") to fit along a wall of 144". Is there a fuction or formula that would be able to decide which combination and quantity of cabinets are needed to best fit into the area?
