Best way to Automate large daily report

I have a 45MB Excel.xlm report that is updated on a daily basis using VBA. Rather than attaching this file to an e-mail everyday, I'd rather update the file and save it to a specific location (and save over this file everyday with the new data). I need to post this file in a Sharepoint location.

There are a few questions:

Is it possible to leave the file 'checked out' so the vba can save over the file daily? Other users can always open but must open in read-only mode.
When I'm out of town and need someone to cover for me, can the vba automatically save over the file if another user is running the vba. I'm thinking it will need to check in the file, save over, then check it back out (to force read-only again)

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
The way I found that is optimal is to Save the file as a read-only on Share-point and just replace this file every morning. I haven't had any issues with using this method.
