I've exported some data from a Lotus Notes database in Lotus 123 format.

I've then opened the file up in Excel and found that each cell containing data has a black square at the far right.

So far i've tried to copy it and find/replace. Which just removed spaces. (also pasted into Word where it shows as a Tab or space)

I've also tried text to columns......

Um actually I just tried that again and it worked !

So there you have it. If you have black squares at the end of your data, do text to Columns/delimited.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
