Good day. I am using Excel 2013 on Windows 10.

Cell C5 contains the formula =if(a5="","",A5+B5)

Cell A5 is blank. Is Cell C5 then considered to be blank?

I am trying to use the function CountA to find a total of cells in Column C that are not blank. Does the formula appear to Excel as a non-blank cell?

Thanks for any help.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Good day chicagocomputerclasses. Thank you for responding. I searched through the entire function list, but somehow missed that one. I'll give it a try.
