Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Take a look at using Conditonal Formatting.

I've tried the condional formating but that only left me with 3 conditions and I need 6 met. I need to compare Cell B6 with B5:E6 for a text entry. If B5:E6 are equal to B6 then I need it to count the occurences and if there is more then 2 occurrences I need it to bold and red the text.

Thanks,

Your question seems to have changed some from your original question, and I am still not sure it is clear.

Perhaps you could post a small sample of your data with your expected results (sometimes examples explains things better than words). You can post data samples using the tools mentioned here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=508133

In versions prior to XL2007, you were limited to 3 FORMATS not 3 CONDITIONS. So, if you only have 3 formats you need you can combine conditions into the formula.

Here is the small screen shot.

Example, I need to track if B6 "Carlos" is working any slots in B5:C5 and D5:E6. If he is working 3 slots in a row I need the text to be bold and red for easy tracking. I have tried conditional formatting but again I cant pick a range of cells only individual cells and I only have three conditions. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
