I need a formula that would count how many times “M” , “P” and “G” are triple and four times
in range C4: Cy4
Formula M3 (3cells): M,M,M
Formula P3 (3cells): P,P,P
Formula G3 (3cells): G,G,G

Formula M4 (4cells): M,M,M,M
Formula P4 (4cells): P,P,P,P
Formula G4 (4cells): G,G,G,G

C4=M
D4=M
E4=M
F4=P
G4=M
H4=G
I4=P
J4 =P
K4=P
L4=P
M4=G
N4=G
O4=G
P4=G
Etc. until Cy4


The result should be :
Formula M3 (3cells): 1 (C4:E4)
Formula P3 (3cells): 2 (I4:K4),(j4:l4)
Formula G3 (3cells): 2 (M44),( N4:O4)

This is how I would do it:

1. Concatenate the lot. You might need a macro for this, as there are too many cells for the concatenate function.

2. Use a modified version of the code provided here: http://www.code-vb.com/visual-basic-source-code/vb-string/count_occurrences_in_a_string.htm
