I've got a multi-worksheet list created with a "master sheet" at the beginning. the "master sheet" is a combination of the items listed, and spread across, multiple other sheets/tabs.

I've been able to work a "check-off" column that when the cell is marked (an x) it strikes through the item in the corresponding column. I have been using conditional formatting to do it.

However it doesn't look like conditional formatting will work across sheets. I need to be able to "check off" an item in the master list, and it strike through that item the master list and corresponding lists on other tabs

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
It may be cumbersome with many ranges, but you can name ranges in one sheet and use those named ranges in the other sheets conditional format formula. That is a good workaround when you are referencing cells in other sheets.
