Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I can give you a formula to detect weekends if that helps?

Assuming your date is in A1:-
Code:
=IF(MOD(A1,7)<2,"Weekend","")

To return the day of the week from the date, use:-
Code:
=TEXT(A1,"ddd")
or:-
Code:
=TEXT(A1,"dddd")

You need a list of the dates you want to check for (1st January, 25th December, etc) and then you could use a lookup to see if the date you want to query is in that list.

Thanks, but i need a specific formuale to check if a particular date is Working Day or not.
Whether a particular day is a working day or not is dependent upon the country. I'm not aware of a function which will return the status of the date in that way, sorry.

Richard's idea seems sound: flag the weekend dates using the MOD formula and then use a lookup to flag the weekday exceptions. You'd have to maintain the list of exceptions manually though.

Give me a minute or three...

Try this: place a date in Sheet1!A1 and this formula in Sheet1!B1:-
Code:
=IF(MOD(A1,7)<2,"Weekend",IF(ISNA(MATCH(A1,Sheet2!A:A,FALSE)),"Working Day","Bank Holiday"))

Create a table in Sheet2 like this:-

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 241pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=322 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 89pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 4352" width=119><COL style="WIDTH: 152pt; Add whatever other exceptions you need for your country/culture/religion/organisation.

Test with a number of different values in Sheet1!A1.

Now try it with this formula in Sheet1!B1:-
Code:
=IF(MOD(A1,7)<2,"Weekend",IF(ISNA(MATCH(A1,Sheet2!A:A,FALSE)),"Working Day",VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE)))

Are either of those any use?
