Buttons and Macros Disappeared

I created approximately 40 different buttons and 40 different macros throughout a workbook. I assigned each button a unique macro. All the macros worked great for about a week. But somehow the 40 buttons and macros have all magically disappeared! Any suggestions on how to get them back? I'm using Microsoft Excel 2003.

Thanks!

Hi, lmpowell
Welcome to the Board !!!!!

most of the time computers do exactly what we ask
so it would be real magic if the macros disappeared
buttons can be hidden, that's no magic, but macros, no
unless you mean the project is locked ? Can you see empty modules ?
or perhaps you experimented with some code which deletes the project ?

can you remember any specific word you used within your macros ?
you could do a windows search: all files with "certain-word"

any help with this ??

kind regards,
Erik

I just encountered a problem myself.
Coincidence ?

This is an additional possibility:
sometimes when loading a project you can get a message like
"critical error occured, some activexControls and the project were lost"
but this message cannot pass by without you see it: did somone else open your file, got that message and save it
