I need to work how many times a game was played during each hour over the last few days.

I have a basic sheet which has time of play and plays (Which is always 1 play per time anyway).

Example:

Is it at all possible to have some calculation that will look at each time stamp and work out how many plays each hour occurred?

your data is in column A and correct data is column D
and the no of games is in column E.
see the formula in D1 and copy it down and format it with custom format
m/d/yy h:mm:ss
now see the second extrct columns g. see formula in G2 and copy it down
this gives hourly values (only relevant values when games are there). now see the formula in H2 and copy it down

Assuming that the dates are dates as Excel recognizes them, all you have to do is creae a PivotTable from the 2 columns. Put the timestamp as the row field and the event flag as the data field.

Select any cell in the row field column and select the Group option. Select the Hour as the Group By field. That's it. You are done.

Is it at all possible to have some calculation that will look at each time stamp and work out how many plays each hour occurred?
