Hi, I'm having a brainfart and need some help probably more with algebra than with Excel. Ok here it goes:

Gross Amount \$2000
Fed Tax witholding 12% (Gross*.12=\$240)
State Tax Witholding 5% (Gross*.05=\$100)

Net Amount = \$1660 (Gross-\$240-\$100)

Now, assuming i have a net amount of \$1660 and i know Federal Witholding at 12% and State at 5%, how do i go backwards and calculate the gross?

### Excel Facts

If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Gross = Net / (1 - (State% + Fed%))

Perfect, Thank you!
