Hi, I'm having a brainfart and need some help probably more with algebra than with Excel. Ok here it goes:
Gross Amount $2000
Fed Tax witholding 12% (Gross*.12=$240)
State Tax Witholding 5% (Gross*.05=$100)
Net Amount = $1660 (Gross-$240-$100)
Now, assuming i have a net amount of $1660 and i know Federal Witholding at 12% and State at 5%, how do i go backwards and calculate the gross?
