Calculate Needed in Automatic Calculation?

Before I start I just want to say that I've done research already on the site and couldn't find an explanation.

I'm running Excel 2003 SP1. When I copy and paste some formulas in the bottom left hand corner "Calculate" appears as if I am calculating manually. However, calculation is on automatic. Does this mean I have a circular reference? If so, why when I delete the formulas that I have pasted does "Calculate" remain?

Thx in advance!
Tim

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
On second thought, is there a way to see what excel is calculating when you push f9? That way maybe I could see where the circular reference is. Or is there a tool I could download perhaps?

Thank You
