Calculate number of days between 2 dates

Hi all

I need to calculate the number of days between 2 dates (inlcuding the possibility of negative results if date 1 is earlier in the year than date 2).

am using XL 2003

any ideas would be great

NB : do not need to exclude weekends

=DATEDIF(start day;end day;"d")
also days360()
