I have a range of data (as in the fisrt section below) and the letters are from alist in the cell which can be changed.
The second section totals the numbers according to the letter in the first column of section one.
What formula should I use to calculate the total of each letter in each column?

a 15 27
b 16 23
d 41 35
a 78 81
e 23 24
c 77 27
a 63 28

313 245

a 156 136
b 16 23
c 77 27
d 41 35
e 23 24

313 245

Thanks
