I have a sheet with 2 columns and about 1000 rows.

In Column A are about 10 unique entries, repeated a few hundred times each.

In Column B are are number values relating to the entries in Column A.

How can I work out the sum of the values in Column A relating to each unique entry in Column B?

I can get a list of the unique entries in Column A by using the advanced filter and ticking the unique entries box. Next to this list I want the sum of all the values relating to each individual entry.

Thanks :p

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
Why not just use SUMIF?

=SUMIF(A1:A1000, C1, B1:B1000)
