Hello,

Is there a way to display an input box that would used to compute the average?

For example, this is the layout of my data:

#of QCs Average Score
x ?

If the user inputs 5 for x, can I have an input box that would take five items and then average the scores as a result of what is inputted?

Thanks

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
If you're going to use input box, then you'll be using VBA, right? It would be simple to just enter the values in a column (or row) and use AVERAGE, which works pretty "smartly."

For VBA, how about rather than trudging through a parsing of multiple input terms, have a loop like

Code:
Do
	sResponse=InputBox("Enter another term(just hit enter alone when done)", ,sResponse)
	dTotal = dTotal + sResponse
	iCount = iCount + 1
while sResponse <> ""
(etc.)
Error handling is strongly urged if this is to be distributed for others.

Yes, I would have to use VBA, but this should work out nice. So error trapping would include the validation of the data being entered (ie. must whole numbers, no decimals, characters or alphabetized, symbols, etc). I got it. Many thanks.
