I would like to add/subtract across moving columns. i.e. - cell a1 - should show me the total of cells B2+E2, then cell b2 - should show me the total of cells F2+G2... basically I want to jump across three cells using copy paste.

Is there a way to do this without using the offset function.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
Ok but the formulas aren't the same distance each time? In your example the first
B2+E2
the next
F2+G2
why doesn't the second part jump three as well? Guess I'm not getting your question

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. Basically, on page on I keep a running total.
So in cell a1 I want to add (page 2) b1+e1, in cell a2, I want to add (page 2) e1+H1 and so on.

thx.
