Hi,

I know this is just easy for you guys but I would like to validate my formula, assuming I have 39,646 calls per year for one campaign and I want to get the average calls per half an hour for the year correct me if I'm wrong with the formulas I have;

39,646 / 365 / 24 / 2 = 2.26???

Thank you!

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
That would be correct assuming that you make calls 24 hours a day and 7 days a week without accounting for holidays.

Thank you for the prompt response.

Now my next question is what would be the best formula to be used in forecasting a call volume on a daily basis assuming I have the historical data.

Can you provide at least a guide on which formula should I use?

Thank you!

There is a FORECAST function, but I've never used it.

Typically you would need more info than just a yearly average if you want to forecast something like daily call volume. For example, is there more volume on certain days of the week? Or does your call volume increase/decrease as you approach a deadline? Is there a cyclical daily peak? Are there outside factors that affect your calls (economy, elections, funding, etc.)?

Forecasting isn't an exact science, but the more info you have, the better you can predict.
