We are using a shared-legacy workbook for 5/6 users to modify and update data. Shared-legacy has some flaws (such as two people putting data into one cell and then saving, and well as, in our case, occasionally corrupted data). We are interested in using the Co-Authored experience, but as it is cloud based, I am unsure if:

1.) We can use Vlookups to reference external and closed workbooks
2.) The onedrive file will have a file path that can be found just like a server path (so that our file backup software can locate the file and create a backup when it runs)

I appreciate your time and help.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi Joe

I work with a lot of fairly hefty workbooks that have vlookups to other workbooks on our company server up in Scotland so your links should be fine.
Anything saved 'on the cloud' or one drive is saved on an earthbound server somewhere so usually, the same applies.
When I have to use shared worksheets, that I hate for the very reasons you gave above, it all comes down to communication and after trial and error we use teams as a chatbox when working on it.

Be interested to see if others have any suggestions.
