Can I use a cell to find a workbook name in a the vlookup function?

I am really not sure if excel can even do this and I am not sure how to explain what I am trying to do but I'll give it my best shot with examples.

A1 = date

B1 = drive\folder\[A1.xls]sheetname'!cell

I hope that makes sense.
