Hello,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I have a spreadsheet with several tabs dedicated to specific years. In each of these years I have many numbers listed under 10 specific columns. On another tab, I am getting a value of the highest and lowest numbers in the 10 specific columns that searches all of the years by using the MAX and MIN function. Is there a way to inform me from what year the highest and lowest numbers were found? <o:p></o:p>
Example: Right now I may get a return of "85.23" for the highest number in the year 2006. I do not know from what year this number was found without manually gonging through each year (tab) and looking for myself. I would like to get a return of "85.23 (06)"; indicating the year along with the highest value found from all the years (tabs).

Thanks,
Bill<o:p></o:p>

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
One way might be to have a high/low calculation done in each year tab.
Then create a new table in your lookup tab made up of the values from each year tab.
It will then be easy to work out which tab the min max values came from.
