Is it possible to add an "unnumbered row" at the very top (or any place)
in an Excel spread sheet... so that you NEVER have to mentally subtract by "one"
to obtain the exact number of people, items, objects, etc. etc. that you have
entered into the spreadsheet?

Thank you for what suggestions you may have to solve this problem!!!

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Welcome to the board,
I don't think so, but you could put this in a column in row 2 and fill down =ROW()-1

Thanks Paul. Yes, that is an alternative... which I'll probably end up doing. I just wish Microsoft would give us the option without having to create (and waste real estate)another column.

Hi
There are various functions which will provide a realtime heads up as to how many of "whatever" you wish.
Count
CountIf
ect...
