To make this easy, lets say I have 2 columns A & B. Say column A is a name, and column B is a number. I want to write a formula that will give me the name associated with the smallest # in column B. Any thoughts?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Hi and welcome to the board!! Try something like this
Code:
=INDEX(A1:A5,MATCH(MIN(B1:B5),B1:B5,0),1)
Note this will return the first instance of the MIN value if you have duplicate values

Thanks, I got it to work. I used an if stmt to make sure it only gave me a name if the lowest # was unique!
