For instance I want the cell name to take on the form "Type of Reader Manufacturer"

So if it is a fixed reader made by Motorolla the cell name would read "FixedMotorolla"

But what if I add a manufacturer and I dont want to have to keep renaming cells...

Is there anyway the cell name could take on the form "FixedB31" so whatever manufacturer name I put in cell B31 will then be put into the name of the cell...?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Yes. So, let's say you have one cell that says "Fixed" and another that says "Motorolla". In a new cell

1. Type an equals sign
2. Click the "Fixed" cell
3. Type an "&"
4. click the "Motorolla" cell
5. Hit Enter

This new cell will concatenate (join) these two cells together. If you change "Motorolla" to "Honda" then the new cell will update. Does this help?

Did you mean to type this in the name box? Because I'm actually getting the error "that name is not valid"

I think you may have misinterpreted the question.. I don't want the cell to show "FixedMotorolla" rather I want to use the name box next to the formula bar to do this.

Why are you naming all your cells? What are you trying to accomplish?
