Hello! I'm having troubles with excel for my budget assignment. I have a "data" sheet that I want to pull information from and put in into another sheet. So for my Sales sheet, I want to fill in the Percentage of Annual Sales for each month from the Data sheet in Sales Pattern Column D14. I can do each month by doing this: =Data!D14. I tried to fill the rest of the months in Sales sheet by doing the fill from B6. It gives me an error and what it does is this C6=Data!E14, D7=Data!F14. I only want the data from column D.

So my question is, how do I do these without having to go back and forth each sheet?

Thanks!!

Excel Facts

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
I think if you make your first entry like:

=Data!$D14

And then fill down, it might work. Note the dollar sign.

Hi JLGWhiz!

Sorry about all that garbled message at the end of my message. I tried to provide a print screen of my excel sheets. Ok, I'm trying to fill across the sheet and not down. Does that change things?

Is there a way for me to attach my excel document on here so you could see what I mean?

Hi again!

Ok, so I took your advice and it didn't work with just the one dollar sign but when I went back in and did =Data!$D$14 it would populate properly. It would grab from the specified column and row and would calculate according to my specifications. I think if you had been able to see my spreadsheets you would have told me exactly that.

Thank you so so so much!!!!
