Is there any way you can get the formatting from the cell that an INDIRECT formula is reference? I'm using the INDIRECT to pull over a comments field where people have used formatting like bolding, underline, … on some of the text in the cell. As is, I'm losing all the formatting. I didn't want to have to switch over to using code and perform copy/paste to get formatting as there are a lot of cells and I have everything setup to make this work except the formatting issue.

You can't copy formatting with any formula, indirect or otherwise.

At best you might be able to use CELL(INDIRECT(...)) with conditional formatting, but personally I wouldn't bother trying it, it would be very limited and would take considerably more effort to set up that copy and paste code.
