I have a table that has ID codes as the key.
The field needs to be case sensitive.
I have some codes that are basically the same but different case:
EX: AA4 and aa4 are two different ID codes but access sees them as the same.

Can you make a text field, in a table, case sensitive?

I suggest that you make a special field for sorting purposes.
You will need to run an Update query to fill in the data for this field.

In this example I have the standard code in a field called Code1, and copy it to a field called Code2. If the code starts with a lower case letter (ASCII character code greater than 90) it puts an "x" in front of the code.

This is the formula used in the "Update to" box for the field in the query :-

Code:
IIf(Asc(Left([Table1]![code1],1))>90,"x" & [Table1]![code1],[Table1]![code1])
