Hi I have a friend who is having problems with a form he is creating. He wants to know if there is a way to turn off the autosave feature.

He wants the record to save ONLY if he clicks on a save record button or next record.

In other words if he is typing in a record and just closes it. He doesnt want it to automatically save.

Thanks

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
When you base a form on a table and allow editing, any changes made to the currently displayed record are saved when you move off of that record. That's the way a database update works.

You can create a similiar form, but use unbound fields... you have to create them.. can't drag'n'drop in design view. This provides you with control over the update but it also requires that you create code to control the form and paste the data to the tables involved.

You could try controlling the user's ability to move from the current record by removing any "Next Record" controls and adding your own.... button.

The button would prompt the user and if the user selected yes, you move off the record, to the next, otherwise, you would undo changes before moving off of the currrent record.
