Hi All

Is it possible to use countif on multiple ranges, the formula I'm using at the moment is =COUNTIF(H1:H210,"Long"), which will only count column h

What I would like to now can I use countif to count through multiple columns

Something like
=COUNTIF(H1:H210,J1:J210,"Long")

Hope this makes sense

Thanks in advance
Ged

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
=COUNTIF(H1:H210,"Long")+COUNTIF(J1:J210,"Long")

or

=COUNTIF(H1:J210,"Long")
(assuming values in Column I don't also contain "Long")

Or:
=SUM(COUNTIF(INDIRECT({"H1:H210","J1:J210"}),"Long"))
