Cannot empty the clipboard

Can anyone tell me why the error message "cannot empty the clipboard" comes up when moving data? All of a sudden I am plauged by this issue.

None of the fixes from the link seem to help me. However I have found that I only get the error when IE is open. Other browser are ok. Does anyone have a fix for that, other than keeping IE closed?
