hi there,
I'm struggeling with a very odd problem.. a worksheet contains objects which can't be touched.. no properties, no nothing, only.. they excist and they mess up a pdf file I need to make from the sheet.

On this url :
http://members.home.nl/whof/temp/test.xls
I've placed an empty test.xls with a few cells with these mysterious objects

When opening the file an alert says another worksheet is connected to this sheet.
Could be right, the cells are coming from a graphics document with data based in a data spreasheet called 'analysis'
But as you can see, this test xls is empty! There is nothing! The 'objects' appears to be situated on the cellborders!
You can't delete, but you can drag, copy and after a number of actions the famous "no more fonts could be applied" message appears...

I hope some of you knows what has happened - and how to solve this problem!
Thanks!

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off

Have you tried going to Edit>Goto... and selecting Objects?

I just did and then went to Edit>Cut.

It took some time but it seemed to get rid of these objects, if that's what you want.

By the way the Chart toolbar appeared when I had selected them.

Also I just did this small test and put a watch on ws.
Code:
Sub test()
Dim ws
     Set ws = ActiveSheet
End Sub
It appears to contain 144 shapes, I'm still trying to work out what they actually are.

Thanks Norie, this is indeed what I need.. to delete them. It will take some time to do this action on the real working sheet because this sheet is full of objects I want to keep, but at last whith your method I can actually grab these 'things' .
Thanks very much, It took me already a lot of time, but I never tried the goto command.
But it is still mysterious isn't it :)
