I am unable to find in my 2,459 excel demo files the example of the code to prevent the formula bar from droping-down revealing a cell with 200 characters an BLOCKING out half my other cells; It is a simple task related to the Status-bar or something.

Can anyone point me in the direction of re-gaining this capability?

TIA,

Jim

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

Format - Cells - Protection.

Check BOTH "Locked" and "Hidden"

Then protect the sheet. (allowing to select unlocked cells or whatever you want).

Of coarse, you will now be unable to see all the contents of that cell.

You could easily write a macro to toggle that setting, or the sheet protection..

Never mind - What I was looking for was:

Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 3/26/2009 by Jmay
'

'
Application.DisplayFormulaBar = False
End Sub
