I can't find a way to modify this text in a form
(of this VBA Calendar / Date Picker: Trevor Eyre

I tried these:
- search "Select Date" in the underlying VBA code: no results.
- double click on that graphical text: I get the selection that you see in this screenshot (the whole object)

What/where else can I try?

That is not something I've ever encountered so cannot help.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
That can happen if you have selected a control that contains other controls - eg a frame or multipage. A simple solution is to resize the userform slightly so that you can click on a blank section of the form itself.
