Hello,
I have a group of cells that I can't add a value to using the paste special add value function. I have reformated the cells from text to general also to number. I have tried text to columns and nothing seems to work. I can do it to other cells on the same sheet.
The data and formating of these cells originate in a PeopleSoft/Oracle program then get exported to Excel. It's as if the format is locked and normal reformating does nothing.
Any idea as to how to strip the cells of any formating?

Thanks,
Kendel, Excel 2007
p.s. this is related to an earlier post regarding sorting, so if you'd like more info, please search my profile.

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Hi kendel,
Maybe it helps to copy your data first to Notepad and then back to Excel.
You will get rid of any formatting( unless there is leading or preceding " "( space)

YIPPEEEE!
Finally, with a combination of the TrimAll macro and PasteSpecial-Add-Value, I can sort my sort!
