Hi,

I am trying to automate a process and need to recover the properties of user defined charts in excel files.
I am developing a tool with Python but since it's using the COM interface an answer in VBA should help also (pywin32) although I am unfamiliar with it.

I have tons of trouble recovering the "offset properties" that you can see in the picture below (ie offset left 90%).

.PlotArea.Format.PictureFormat.CropLeft (or Right/Bot/Top) is defined but gives me a value equals to 0.0 which is odd.

I have no problem recovering the transparency for example (here 30%), with .PlotArea.Format.Fill.Transparency

I tried various other properties such as .PlotArea.Format.Fill.TextureOffsetX etc. without any success.

I Tried using the "Record macro" tool to change those values and see what properties are affected but it actually gives me empty lines !

Could any of you guys help with this issue?

Thanks a lot !

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
Just to add up: when creating chart from scratch while recording a macro, the step "Picture Texture Fill" is simply ignored.

Is this a bug ? If so, is there another way to recover this property ?

Hi Isokal,

I was just about to post the same question as yours. I need to set the "offset properties" of the texture fill for the plot area but I can't find the right properties to do so. My searches on the net didn't help me.
I'm hoping someone will post a solution for this issue.

Thx in front
