Trying:
to undo or delete an object copied from an Internet site, which I pasted into a cell. Excel 2000, incl. recent Msoft Office 2000 online upgrade.

Tried:
Edit / undo; delete, cut, or move selected object; move cursor to another cell; select print area around the problem cell and copy to new worksheet; format selected picture (object); close worksheet or program without save; etc. Text bar is available for typing and editing.

What happens:
"Can't Undo"; "X" to close worksheet gets no result; format picture is not available; error messages: "Cannot quit Microsoft Excel"; in all other cases, "Reference is not valid".

How often:
First occurrence. Object is "E-mail: radio@glaciercity.us" from website
[http://glaciercity.us/KEUL/index.html]

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Re: Can't work after pasting object, "Reference is not

Resolved!

Additional typing in the wonder bar was deleted, then the object in the cell selected. Delete was then available. Done and all is well
