How would I go about catching the possibility of a missing OCX file that my project uses missing from the Windows\System32 directory? Right now when the file is missing or not registered Excel throws up a compile error.

I found the code to check the references and find the one that IsBroken, but I put the code in my Workbook open event to display a message box and I still get a compile error. My message box is never displayed.

I basically just want to stop running my code and display a meaningful message to let the user know that the file they need is missing. The compile error that is displayed now is confusing.

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
