Hi.

How do I capture when a cell loses focus when nothing has changed within the cell. Worksheet_Change event only works when a change has manually been made to a cell. If nothing is changed, the Worksheet_Change event is not fired.

I think I have asked this before however, I can't find and answer.

Thanks,

Mike C

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
It sounds like you need the Worksheet_SelectionChange event. You may also need to store the previous value(s) of the monitored cell(s) to determine if changes have been made.

Can you please provide more detail, e.g.

- how many cells do you want to monitor?
- how should the code allow for the selection including monitored and non-monitored cells?
- should the code always trigger if the user moves away from the monitored range? Or only if the user moves away without making changes?
- what about moving to other worksheets? Other workbooks?

That's how I got around it. Just haven't had time to test it. There are 6 cells that I'm monitoring. The routine generates an invoice based on activity in other workbooks. If the user wants to change values in one of the cells they can, however if the invoice is OK, they can step through and print the invoice without changing any data.

Appreciate your comeback. And you are correct about using the Worksheet_SelectionChange event.

Thanks for your help.
