The return and enter keys work in every program except Excel. They used to work in excel before so this is a new development. Does anyone know what I can do. When I enter a number and press enter the number is entered but the highlighted box stays in same cell - only way to move down or across is with arrow keys.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
welcome to the board!

try this:

go to tools | options |edit. check the 'Move selection after enter' box.
