Cell content involving both trailing and leading zeros

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well.

I was wondering if this seemingly impossible requirement is actually possible?!?

My girlfriends' a hairdresser, she uses products that have codes such as:

1/1
02/03
20/11

and so on.

I thought it might be nice to record these in a spreadsheet, however because they include both trailing and leading zeros, I'm stuffed as to know how she can enter them? I had hoped to lock a cell and place a forward stroke into it, and then have cells either side where she places the number.

So far the only way I can think of, is that she treats them as notes, i.e. characters/words.

Curious to know if anyone can think of a workaround!

Thanks,

Chris

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
If the values are typed into cells, Excel may treat them as Dates. Enter values with a leading apostrophe (single quote) to avoid this.

Thanks for your responded, very much appreciated. I was aware of the workaround using an apostrophe, but I just wondered if there was a way of keeping it numerical, despite the numbers changing from have a leading to a trailing zero. It's really got me head scratching!?!

Cheers, Chris
