I need a conditional format for a cell to Yellow highlight when the cell 4 spaces to the left of the current cell has the number "86".

How can I write this without using cell address?
Right now I have in cell G116:
Code:
=C116=86

Thank You

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
How can I write this without using cell address?
I'm not sure what you mean by this.
How is it to know which cell you want it to look at if we can't tell it the address?

I'm not sure exactly what you're wanting to do.

Maybe this...

=INDIRECT("rc[-4]",0)=86

Ok,
Is there a way to not use the G116.
I want to copy this formula to other areas so I would like relative refrencing

In CF, the G116 should adjust automatically I think but try Biff's suggestion.

When I CF a cell to be yellow when the one 4 cells to its left reads 86, I can copy that & paste in another cell and the reference is relative, making the new cell turn yellow too when the one 4 cells to its left says 86.

Isn't that what you're looking to do?

Half Ace,
I think the problem I was having was it put the "$" in the formula and that was messing me up, but yes it did work once I tried it.
But it was awesome to see Valko's formula as well
