Working in Excel 2007. Switched from XP to Vista (not sure if that matters). For some reason, I can no longer edit the contents of a cell by double-clicking. I have to edit in the toolbar. Is there a way to enable/disable the double-click editing function?

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Hi Pat,

Click the Office button (upper left corner) then Excel Options. Select Advanced, then in the settings listed to the right make sure the checkbox for 'Allow editing directly in cells' is checked.

That should do it.

I would leave that option unchecked - you get no benefits that I can see, and if you have it unchecked and the cell contains a formula that references another cell, double-clicking will take you to that referenced other cell (even in another workbook) which for me is enormously useful.
