I have searched but haven't found the information that I need.
I have two different workbooks lets call them workbook1 and workbook2.

In Cell A13 thru A52 of workbook1 I have identification numbers example below.

A13 = 1073B10N033-400
A14 = 1150C13N051-136
A15 = 1073B10N023-401
A16 = 1150D18N032-133

and data in cell D13 thru D52 that corresponds to the particular identification number that needs to be copied to workbook2.

The problem arises each month when workbook1 has various rows added to it. I have to go into workbook2 and update the cell references and this is becoming very tedious.

On workbook2, I need to reference the data in workbook1 cell D13 that corresponds to that unique id number from workbook 1 A13 and the same for D2, D3, etc.

What I need to do is to automatically have excel copy the data from D13 in workbook1 to a corresponding cell in workbook2 based on that identification number so that if that id number moves rows, it will still find it and copy it.

also, I would like it if the formulas would work like they do now and pull the data whether workbook1 is open or not.

I do have a working spreadsheet that copies the data just fine but only until the new month when I have new rows added causing me to have to update the cell references as mentioned.

Im not an advanced user of excel but welcome all suggestions.

Thank you for your time.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Wanted to bump this. I created this prior to the holiday weekend and it got pushed off first page quickly.

If there is more information that is required please let me know. Thanks.
