I have a user that when they select any cell by clicking on it and then move the cursor around the sheet, without holding down the mouse button, cells are being highlighted. How can I stop this from happening.
The have accidently enabled the extended selection accessability option. If you look down in the status bar you will see an "EXT" press F8 to turn it off.

Not that I am aware of. Fortunatly there is hotkey that toggles it on and off. F8.
But if you do not see "EXT" in the status bar it is not the issue. Just look at the bottom of your screen and press F* (do not have any dialog boxes open when you do this) and you will see a little "EXT" blinking on and off.
