Hi,

I just noticed today that it doesn't appear that Excel shows trace dependencies for a cell for uses in conditional formatting. Is this the case? Any known workarounds? I have a habit of trimming out orphaned cells, but I could easily mess things up for the conditional formatting.

Thanks,
Paul

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Sorry, by trace dependencies I mean cells that refer to this cell, as opposed to precedents. "Orphans" is my term for cells that I come across some time after I've made them, and can no longer find uses for.

Could you post one or two examples?
