I know it must in the 'Data' 'Validation'... but I can't figure it out. I try the custom but I don't know what to enter. (sifting thru help for 30 mins)

I need something simple.... I would like a cell to only allow and entry of 'either 1, or 2. That's it......

Thanks again for your help

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Try:

Data-->Validation-->Settings-->Allow-->Whole Number-->Data-->Between-->Minimum-->1-->Maximum-->2.

Add your error message as needed.

Hope that helps,

Smitty

Enter those choices in a range, one on top of the other so it makes a list, then name that range, then use: Allow>List, Source>enter named range.

You may want to uncheck "in cell dropdown"
