Certain cells won't recalculate unless Save As is chosen

I have a spreadsheet with about 30 tabs, all of which are linked together with formulas. There are also a bunch of Hyperion Retrieve formulas. The workbook is our financials for the board of directors. As part of the setup, I need to go in and manually move tabs around (no tabs are added or deleted). When I do this, some of my formulas that reference data on other sheets do not update, no matter what, unless I manually edit the cell or select Save - As (Save by itself does not work either). Even pressing CTRL + SHIFT + F9 does not work. Has anyone ever run into this before? It only happens when I move groups of sheets around in the workbook.

Thanks,

Click on Tools- Option and Calculation. Do you have Calculation set to Manual and the Recalculate Before Save box checked? If so, click the Automatic option or try pressing CTRL-ALT-F9 or CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-F9 and see if that works. If not, then I'm stumped.

The calc is not set to manual. and ctrl shift f9 does not work either. The worksheet is about 5 MEGs, so I wonder if, in moving all the sheets around, it just freezes up somehow?

It's weird. At least Save As works.

This is a wel know bug in Excel. Microsoft claims to be working on it but so far no fix.
It usually happens with large workbooks with many links in it. We usually don't see it untill the workbook gets over 10 meg. Keep your eyes open.
