Hi all,
I have a challenging task to complete. I have to figure out a formula to look up data from:
A file which has a certain store # in its name (i.e. Store # 1234.xls) located in a certain folder (called "Master Store List").
It then has to look into a specific worksheet (i.e. Ontario) in that Excel file and return results within a certain range within that worksheet. This part, I can do -- it's part of a regular vlookup function.
I'm wondering if there's a way to achieve the first part (in italics) using a formula (or any other short cut ideas you have) and combine it with the second part?
Right now, I have to manually extract worksheets called Ontario from 50 different excel files and apply the vlookup function to pull data from those worksheets. (FYI, I have to rename these worksheets from 'Ontario' to their store number in order to do a vlookup by worksheet name)
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot in advance!
