Hello, I was wondering if there is a way for me to change a cell's colour if a cell I'm referencing changes colour.

For example, if C17 changes to orange, change B17 to orange, if C17 changes to red, change B17 to red, else do nothing.

Thank you

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.

How is the color is column C being set?
Is it done manually, or by Conditional Formatting?

If it is being done by Conditional Formatting, we can apply the same Conditional Formatting rule that we are using for column C to column B.
If it is being done manually, that is going to be a bit tricky, as Excel worksheet formulas only run off of cell's values, not their formatting.
Some sort of VBA will probably need to be involved, and even that can be a bit tricky, if you are just changing the colors of column C and not their values.

Thank you!
C will be conditional formatted however what I would need to do is if there is any orange/red in column C, the cell in B will be changed to orange/red, with red taking priority.

I'm guessing that I do need to play with VBA so I'll be looking through that as I need the colour of the cell itself.

Cheers!

What exactly is your Condtional Formatting rule on column C?

My conditional formatting for column C rules are:
1. Cell Value > $A$2 turns the cell to green
2. Cell Value < $A$2 turns the cell to red
3. Cell Value = $A$2 turns the cell to yellow

A2 contains the current date

OK, so why not apply those exact same rules to column B too?
Wouldn't that then satisfy what you are trying to do?

I wanted to make it so that if red or orange shows up in column C, a cell in a different sheet changes to that colour, not just B2 changing with C2 but B2 changing with $C:$C. Sorry if my explanation is all over the place.

I have found a different way of doing what I wanted though but encountered a different problem. Should I make a new post for that or continue here?

If it is an entirely new question because you went a different way, it would probably be best to start a new thread so that it shows up on the "Unanswered threads" list.
