I use a date picker in my workbook

The date picker reconizes dates and wants to allow to change date
However some cells I dont want it to recognized as date (even if it is) because I dont want someone to change that cell
I have tried to make the cell as text, used the text formula but to no avail, it still recognizes it as a date
Is there another cleaver formula or formating I can use?
thank you

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Can you not simply lock the sheet after allowing changes to only those cells that may be modified?
